Paradise of Bachelors

Released: 20.01.17

A milestone marking a half-century of performing, Michael Chapman’s new release, 50, bears testament to not only the man but raises a glass in celebration of the ever changing landscapes of music itself. Unashamedly American in influence and execution (with banjo and lap-steel never too far away) there’s a loveliness to lead single That Time Of Night that comforts like a well-worn winter coat.

We’re often told to never go back; cautiously warned against returning to favourite past haunts, but when Chapman revisits older compositions such as The Mallard, you’re glad he did. 50 acts as an experienced tour guide along the dark, shadowy back roads that offers both reassurance and a comforting arm around your shoulder.
