Time Elastic is the fourth album by Brighton-based troubadour Daniel Green, AKA Laish. It’s a nuanced collection of songs; benefiting from intelligent, subtle arrangement. Though Green is hardly reinventing the wheel he is an idiosyncratic songwriting voice, with songs on the record touching sweetly and earnestly on nostalgia, ageing and relationships in a way that is wry and generally avoids platitude.

Jessica Weiss guests on highlight Love Is Growing, and there are shades of the pedalised songwriters of modern times all over this record, from Cohen and Dylan to Young, but it never feels like a folk rock pastiche, more a welcome addition to a thoroughly satisfying catalogue of an intelligent, astute and underrated songwriter.
