Musician and filmmaker Yasmin Dubois draws on her roots from Iran and Egypt and life experiences in Paris, Latin America and beyond to stir up a recipe of musical styles and languages all painted from an electronica sound palette.

Earlier in this breakthrough year Lafawndah reached out with her debut album fusing many world influences and undercurrents, and has returned with new mixes and re-imaginings; the seven remixes are in collaboration with vocalists and musicians drawn from around the globe. It can be tricky to crawl beneath the skin such is the complexity of the ambient and industrial, clubby mixes of different languages, voices, cut up samples and myriad of beats. Yet closer listening opens up new musical horizons.
