Best known as an award-winning actor, Kiefer Sutherland’s third album is set to cement his reputation as an accomplished musician too. Bloor Street is an immediate attention-grabber, with up-tempo treasures like Two Stepping In Time and the title track, and the pretty guitars in So Full of Love make for a memorable melody.

Walking the line between country and rock, there are some really lovely lyrics (for example, “empty glasses of whisky show the passage of time”) and Sutherland excels as a compelling storyteller. County Jail Gate and Down the Line are tender interludes in an upbeat, toe-tapping collection of tracks that are left playing in your head long after you’ve finished listening to them.
