Outré Records

Released: 28.02.20

Perhaps the most striking attribute of Parisian trio Juniore’s third studio outing is its effortless cool – not terribly surprising from an outfit for whom the likes of Françoise Hardy, Brigitte Bardot and Anna Karina provide evident influence.

Moreover, Un Deux Trois’ assurance is unmistakably the result of experience; its beautifully honed melange of lustrous retro pop, slick ‘60s surf and light yet immersive psychedelics bearing all the hallmarks of a group settled and set on perfecting their craft. This seamlessness also goes some way towards covering for the language barrier, and while their exact themes remain a mystery to this writer, the verve and hooks of En solitaire, Ah bah d’accord and En verité nue strike a chord that’s truly universal.
