Bella Union
Released: 06.03.20
Jonathan Wilson is a man of many talents and these really shine through on this album. These songs are beautiful and heartfelt, but what elevates Dixie Blur are the underlying tracks, whilst often delicate there is a great sonic density to them. His Southern country-infused music possesses an atmospheric feel, the likes of Oh Girl and Enemies particularly standing out.
However, Dixie Blur has an ever changing sound, there is often an upbeat feel especially in El Camino Red and In Heaven Making Love. The country sound on these tracks is augmented with flecks of psychedelia adding to the depth of the record. Dixie Blur has a multitude of facets and showcases Wilson at his best.
