Released: 15.05.20

This is a record which once again displays Jason Isbell’s songwriting prowess, he’s a true master of his craft. Reunions is crammed with passion and heartfelt songs, opening with What’ve I Done To Help there is a stripped back element that underpins the first few tracks. All of which allow the lyrics to shine through, but that’s not to say that the fuller tracks like Be Afraid don’t pack the same lyrical punch.

However, it’s It Gets Easier which really stands out on Reunions, as Isbell talks about getting sober and its longer term affects. This is an album which feels exceptionally personal, whilst remaining incredibly relatable. It is without doubt some of Jason Isbell’s finest work.
