So many of us have had to change how we work because of the pandemic, and of course artists are no different. Forced into working from home and deciding to self-produce, Harkin’s second record Honeymoon Suite is a claustrophobic affair, all synths and samples, with less of the expansive chiming guitar which characterised the first record.

In the process of its creation, she has managed to channel so many of the emotions we’ve all experienced in lockdown; sadness, defeat, longing, nostalgia and hope all rear their heads on occasion. Harkin is a seasoned songwriter, but the circumstances have brought out the best in her creatively, with the likes of Mt. Merino up there with the best of her work.
