Rather than dictate a creative direction to the rest of Fontaines D.C., lead singer Grian Chatten is channelling Drake-ian urges into an accomplished debut solo album. He felt that writing with a guitar and his own soul, in his words “…having the song in the palm of your hand..” was his driving force.

It’s not wholly him and his acoustic, there’s also assured pop highlights in the guise of the rousing Fairlies and the laid back ballad East Coast Bed. Working again with his band’s long time producer Dan Carey has allowed these songs to exist in their own right, telling tales of poetic emotion “You can talk about the finer things” and “You can talk about the minor things”.
