As someone who grew up in the Midlands, I can completely attest to the feeling of resentment and irritation that hailing from a nowhere town can cause. Wolverhampton duo (whether intentionally or not) embody this perfectly – Vultures is a debut album that comes kicking, screaming and cursing with all the power that growing up bored and fidgety brings. Tracks such as When the Wind Blows and Horus roar with a sludge-tinged sound, whilst We Don’t Like You is a stand-out slice of catchy, melodic rock in its purest form.

With an on-going homage to the sounds of the American alt. giants, the twosome’s vehicle of noise also happens to pack an unexpected punch of melody. One to play loudly and unapologetically.
