A scintillating debut album from a Newcastle band that deals in big emotional musical statements. Previously compared to Foals and Royal Blood they are laying down their own route map here; exploding from the double barrel Double Yellow Lines opener, Glastines pepper the LP with mountainous melodies and sculpted synth and guitar soundscapes like the marvellously named Wopenhausen, a dark, gripping adrenalin drive.

Nocturnal pleasures and pressures are expounded in I Don’t Mind and Night Time Driving. It is all signed off with their new single, The Drift, a slow burning start which builds into a shuddering epic. Glastines toss a pebble in the ocean and then immerse us in a tempest. They play the songs that you will be singing all night.
