Atlanta’s Becca Harvey showcases indie pop folk gems on her debut album When I’m Alone. Following the woodsy introspective feel of her breakthrough EP Swan in 2021, she stitches these new summertime melodies and lyrical daydreams in a breezy set of tunes that would appeal to fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Swift or Caroline Polachek.

With an unabashed sentimentality and honesty she sings “I hate writing songs on album closer and one of its stand out tracks Permanent State, playfully exposing the songwriter’s paradox, but when the music sounds so delicate you can only hope for an unlimited supply.

The more tender odes here barely break a whisper before disappearing. Fleeting mantras being sung into the ether like gossamer clouds of campfire smoke.
