Toronto-based rock peddlers Dearly Beloved’s new album Admission is a romp through a plethora of rock sub-genres. Recorded over two weeks at Dave Grohl’s 606 studios it shows glimpses of the stomping desert rock you’d expect. Who Wants To Know feels like an epic at just shy of five minutes compared with the frantic pace of the rest of the album and it’s the short sharp stuff where Dearly Beloved are at their best.

You get the impression a live show would be a serious experience but lead single and stand out track I Tried To Leave is the only time that energy is evident. Ultimately the album fails to capture enough of that spirit to make it great.
