Fika Recordings

Released: 22.05.20

Delightful, delicate and poignantly relevant, Darren Hayman has released a sweet message of love and understanding and of the conflicted thoughts endured through breakup, steeped in simple modern folk tones.

This is what Hayman has done prolifically to a very high standard since his days as Hefner frontman, “It fits like a glove, feels a bit like love…” as he sings almost biographically on the track I Want To Get Drunk. For this release he’s limited himself to recording on eight tracks using only acoustic instruments, spending about three years writing songs but recording it in a very short time at his home. It’s resulted in something emotionally fragile yet at the same time full of warmth and heartfelt sentiment.
