It’s inevitable there are worthy comparisons made to Devo and early Talking Heads on Cowtown’s new album, I can’t fail to notice it, it’s there on a plate for all to see. It doesn’t stop me revelling in it though.

Enough edginess, surplus riffing in a tense vibrancy Total Engagement as a concept, lyrics about the apparatus and being in it, free will is denied you are here and they know it sensibility, scarred by time and life, it’s hard to believe they’ve been around for over twenty years. The nation’s best support band has made a humdinger of jerky angular punk-o-pop worthy of every dancing foot, it’s refreshing in a nostalgic yet modern way you kids are gonna love it.
