I’ve no idea how Terminal fits in to the frankly insane discography of Finland’s mighty – and mighty bewildering – Circle. But I know this: the title track is flat out the greatest guitar track I’ve heard all year, possibly all decade.
By fusing the Stooges and Loop, they’ve created a riff so glorious, so uplifting, that grown men and women will weep into their Buckfast. This is the only song in more than 30 years to make me play air drums, people.
And the rest of the album is no slouch either – a wonderful collision of metal, prog, noise rock, krautrock and garage that laughs maniacally at your genres whilst putting one foot on the monitor and doing the claw. Bow down before its majesty.
