Popular London newcomers Calva Louise have already built up a pretty decent fanbase and it’s no surprise when you listen to their phenomenally chaotic debut album Rhinoceros.

Raucous, skuzzy punk pulsates through the speakers from the get-go in opener I Hear A Cry, as crashing percussions rain down on energetic synths and frontwoman Jess Alanic’s exceptional Patti Smith-esque snarl. The rest of the album continues in the same vein with anthemic choruses, explosions of noise and instrumental battles culminating in an explosion of glorious soundscapes. Tracks such as Outrageous give off serious Wolf Alice vibes and how could you possibly go wrong with that?

If you’re a fan of pure punk that will shake the ceiling, you’re going to love this.
