C Duncan is equal parts musician and composer and his second full length release

The Midnight Sun sees him take steps forward from 2015’s Mercury-nominated Architect. The Midnight Sun offers far more than its baroque-pop predecessor, sparse and ethereal in equal measure.

Like You Do and Jupiter are bathed in spacey synths and Kraut jazz drum shuffles (think the 5th Dimension at mass) and sit comfortably alongside more leftfield tracks like Wanted To Want It Too – a track that sounds exactly how you would imagine a church choir might if your local clergyman was a massive TRON fan.

The Midnight Sun is unlikely to ruffle any feathers but is an ambitious and bold sophomore effort nonetheless.
