Magnificently eccentric and brilliantly crafted, those self-proclaimed moustache-powered troubadours Biscuithead & The Biscuit Badgers are back with their fourth long player, the wonderfully titled Thought Porridge.

Musically harking back to bygone ages once charted by the late great Viv Stanshall and Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, but prised out of the parlour and into the back to the nitty gritty of Royal Park Road, Leeds, where “you’re only ten yards from a rat… or a man in a flat cap.” Trumpet and strings supplement the Biscuithead staples of ukulele, piano, percussion and tuba. Subjects mined for magic and mirth include a model railway, the perils of buying a bison for Valentines, and the British Cactus & Succulent Society is proclaimed from the top of the highest Leeds steeple. Musically majestic, quirky and off-kilter, utterly hilarious.
