This latest release by Battles has been some time in the making. Multi-instrumentalist Ian Williams and drummer John Stanier are the remaining members of the line-up, but Juice B Crypts has many guest appearances that mesh into their electronic math rock transmission, including the likes of Yes frontman Jon Anderson, Sal Principato of Liquid Liquid and TuneYards among others.

Introducing itself with Radiophonic bleeps, lead track Ambulance reverts to some familiar Battles ground, with looping lines and rhythms that are tied together with twisted electronic swishes and chops. I’m certain I hear the influence of Talking Heads amongst the glitched melodies, particularly in the tracks Fort Greene Park and the first single Titanium 2 Step.
