Bastille have a lot to answer for, not least the current crop of chart bothering neo-indie, but like, say The Maccabees before them, they are so far out in front of their peers as to render them hopeless. And while most bands would have difficulty living up to the anthemic euphoria of Pompeii and Laura Palmer, Bastille don’t care, they just write more of the brilliant same.

Some filler is to be expected of course, they won’t be playing the whole thing at Ibiza Rocks but Good Grief is already annoyingly over-familiar, next single Send Them Off!’s catchy as hell trumpet motif is the next big earworm while Power and Lethargy plot a course to the stadiums, and it’s all liberally sprinkled with cinematic samples for that added Stateside zing.
