Reliably informed

Released: 21.02.20

This is a confident debut from Australian Banoffee. Electric loops and beats wrap around her expressive lyrics about topics like heartbreak, addiction and obsession. Only the title track runs over five minutes so each song only has a short time to make an impression. The result is an experimental pop album that fits well together and has a number of memorable musical nuggets that linger as earworms after the album has stopped.

The collaborations with SOPHIE, Empress Of, Cupcakke and Umru add to the texture of an interesting collection. Lyrically, some of the subject matter is darker than the instrumentation suggests will be the case. The energy lasts until the final track in an album with no filler tracks.
