Death Waltz Originals

Released: 05.07.19

The debut from Margate-based electronic musician and producer BABii is a densely layered and skittering affair. Sumptuously cool, it weaves perfect pop hooks between the majestically textured soundscapes to create a work of atmospheric synthetic loveliness. The tracks are wrapped with just enough grit to always keep things on the right side of icy.

Whilst comparisons to Grimes, The Knife, Ladytron and Little Boots will be inevitable, BABii strives for a different kind of electro-pop perfection, each track weeping with an ache that suggests life experience beyond her years. The lyrics heavy in content are delivered with a spoonful of sugar, leaving the listener with a lingering feeling that they’ve been allowed a sneak peek into a secret society of BABii’s making. Hiide is magnificent.
