Polyvinyl Records
Released: 21.10.16
Seventeen years on, very little has changed and the world is all the better for it; having produced one of the most influential rock albums ever, American Football’s sophomore record had to be special with such an exceptional legacy to uphold. Fortunately, it lives up to all expectation with Kinsella’s incredible songwriting being the cornerstone of this wonderful album.
The depth and intensity of the lyrics exude from every track, however I’ve Been Lost For So Long and Give Me The Gun stand out for their macabre subject matter, the latter being particularly powerful. The raw instrumentation that underpins these tracks allow for the darkness to really show through; a phenomenal album that has been well worth the wait.
