In working with a contemporary producer such as Dan Carey, and aiming to stick down the bulk of the 10 tracks reportedly in a mere 12 hours, it’s inevitable that ACR offer up an album that’s pared down in its sound. Less about frills and more about the core heart of each track, the listener is treated to a confident collection. Musically the rhythm is often supplemented by loops and interesting ringing guitar melodies. Thus a band that has been around since 1977 has created something all encompassing and fresh.

Having said that, there is something familiar about the title track and God Knows; I got a real sense of deja vu when hearing them. This album is a grower – one in which I have picked up new things each time I play it, which is fun.
