Stuck for something to do in the next seven days? We aim to have you covered with an event a day for the next week, all across the region. This time around we have a band documentary filled with political angst, charismatic comedy, thought-provoking theatre, some alt. r’n’b and much, much more.

Monday 21st March
FILM Sleaford Mods: Invisible Britain @ ARC, Stockton
One of the most thrilling and vital acts on the UK music scene at present, are celebrated with a documentary following their tour which took in many places usually ignored. The film is a mix of conversations with the band, live footage, interviews with fans and a perfect snapshot of the state of a nation.

Tuesday 22nd March
COMEDY Craig Campbell @ The Stand, Newcastle
Internationally acclaimed comedian Craig Campbell is one of stand-up comedy’s most charismatic and inventive performers and the Canadian comic brings his brand new show Don’t Look Down to The Stand on Tuesday. Hilarious tales from his globetrotting adventures told in his uniquely exuberant way will raise lots of Tuesday titters.

Wednesday 23rd March 
STAGE Continuum @ Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle
This new play from writer Richard Stockwell and director Ali Pritchard is a challenging, thought-provoking piece of theatre. The play centres around the character of Ben, and looks at what would happen if you woke up to a changed personality, all through a fascinating narrative.

Thursday 24th March
MUSIC SoShe @ Tynemouth Surf Cafe
Alt. r’n’b pop trio SoShe are launching their new single Something About The Way at Tynemouth’s Surf Cafe on Thursday. The effortlessly smooth track is one of many ridiculously catchy songs you’ll be able to get utterly swept away with.

Friday 25th March
ART & LIT Omer Fast @ Baltic, Gateshead
Innovative filmmaker Omer Fast will start a new display at Baltic, and Friday is the perfect opportunity to sample this. With his work capturing so much that is current and examining contemporary social and political issues, Fast is an artist who brings moving image to life.

Saturday 26th March
MUSIC Blood Sport @ The Old Police House, Gateshead
Sheffield’s Blood Sport are set to make a special visit to the North East, with afro beat influenced sounds coming to the intimate venue in Gateshead. Taking infectious grooves and crossing them with noise driven guitars, their self-described “aggro-beat” music is well worth catching.

Sunday 27th March
COMEDY Halfpenny Comedy Club @ The Westgarth, Middlesbrough
Halfpenny Comedy Club continues to go from strength to strength, with another packed line-up of quality jokesters to fill your Easter weekend with. Expect big laughs from headliner Daliso Chaponda, the hilarious Nina Gilligan, and charming host Sam Harland.
