Stuck for something to do in the next seven days? We aim to have you covered with an event a day for the next week, all across the region. This time around we have massive touring bands, an EP launch, hilarious comedians, a film about a revered artist and a Christmas craft fair. More than enough to start to December with a bang.

Monday 30th November
MUSIC The Courteeners @ O2 Academy, Newcastle
Indie rock stalwarts The Courteeners are nearing nearly a decade together, and they approach that milestone with their biggest headline tour to date. Having written their first Christmas song Winter Wonderland too, this is a perfect way to usher in the month of December.

Tuesday 1st December
COMEDY David O’Doherty @ the Stand, Newcastle
The award winning Irish comedian performs the last of two consecutive days at one of the finest comedy establishments in the country. Expect songs, silliness and stories, and lots and lots of laughing, with his fantastically titled show We Are All In The Gutter, But Some Of Us Are Looking At David O’Doherty. There’s also a date at Stockton’s Arc the very next day.

Wednesday 2nd December
FILM Exhibitions on Film: Goya – Visions of Flesh & Blood @ Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle
Something a bit different for Wednesday, with a film celebrating the life and work of revered artist Francisco De Goya. Regarded by many as one of the greatest portrait artists to have ever lived, as well as a social commentator, this film is a must see for admirers and a fantastic introduction for those new to his work.

Thursday 3rd December
COMEDY David Haddingham, Andy Clark, Hal Branson, Mark Kennedy, Jack Gardner And Lee Kyle @ The Chillingham Arms, Heaton
Popular monthly comedy night The Chuckling Monk returns with another stellar line-up of acts. Fantastic gags are to be expected from David Haddingham, the wonderfully silly Andy Clark opens the show, with top up and coming acts in the middle in the form of Hal Branson, Mark Kennedy and Jack Gardner; with the whole show held together by one of the finest comperes in the country, Lee Kyle.

Friday 4th December
MUSIC Simon Taylor And The Sundowners EP launch @ The Mining Institute, Newcastle
With influences ranging from Serge Gainsbourg to Chic, the group’s output is always striving for something new, and the new EP is sure to be a wonderful listen. With support on the night coming from Newcastle-based quartet Alter Cosmos who fuse Catalan folk, trip hop and acid jazz and singer-songwriter Lesley Roley, with her brand of pop influenced folk, this is a fanstastic way to spend a Friday.

Saturday 5th December
MUSIC Pindrop featuring Escuchando Elefantes And The Rebekah Findlay Trio  @ The Fisherman’s Arms, Hartlepool
The first of two festive gigs from promoter Brian Barnes, featuring Escuchando Elefantes who head to the North East from Spain, bringing upbeat vibes with them. The boy/girl duo have honed their powerful, passionate songs busking across Europe, and they’ll be ably assisted by support act The Rebekah Findlay Trio, with folky tunes to set the tone perfectly.

Sunday 6th December
ART & LIT Canny Crafty @ Central Bar, Gateshead
Ever growing arts and crafts fair Canny Crafty returns with a Christmas twist. Featuring the best apparel, food, collectibles and art stalls the North East has to offer, this is the perfect place to snap up some early gifts or even just treat yourself.
