The Meerkat Theatre Company are opening up their Patisserie filled with delectable treats for one night only on Wednesday 19th November. Though still a work in progress, the performance weaves together four seemingly disparate, bitesize stories all connected by the theme of cake. Kicking off the night is Louise Taylor’s delicious Torte, which presents the life story of Dee, as told though cake-based disasters. The appetizers come in the form of Mhairi Ledgerwood’s Lemon Drizzle, in which three generations of women face a struggle between family obligations and personal happiness. Allison Davies’ Honey Cake presents a modern day fable about the deep divisions that lie between us, while topping off the night is Nicola Cameron’s Mini Muffins, in which a computer’s quest to produce a perfect kind of happiness leads to a cake-based disaster in outer space. Guaranteed to be a night of bold and playful adventures, Meerkat’s latest offering is one not to be missed.

Patisserie runs at ARC, Stockton on Wednesday 19th November.
