Reliably informed

If you’ve managed to catch Bernaccia at one of their few gigs recently – including their exhilarating support slot opening for Kingsley Chapman and the Murder last month – then you’ll probably have already heard the force of nature that is Power To The Hills. The Newcastle blues rockers have produced perhaps one of their best yet in the form of this juggernaut of brooding riffs, clattering drums and one of the most rousing and cathartic choruses you’ll hear all year. The good news is that none of that intense energy from their live performances has been lost in the final recorded mix of the track.

Frontman Johnny Noble told us more about the story behind the single: “Power To The Hills is one of those songs that appears from the back of your head. I locked myself in a room of music and just started playing until the guitar part sprouted. We took it to practice and I spat the lyrics out that were on my chest. It’s a tale of a father and a son, a girl and madness. Power To The Hills is about escape. Burn the busy metropolis, and head back to the Highfield hills.”

With an album being released soon, Power To The Hills is a heart-stopping indication of what we can expect from a Bernaccia LP.

You can check out Power To The Hills below. Bernaccia will be playing at the Mining Institute, Newcastle on Saturday 10th October, with Sun Dance, Black Atom Movement and Hazels.
