With such a variety of bands on the bill there’s something for everyone, and a veritable feast of talent from across the musical spectrum. All Kings And Queens were up early on, with former pop starlet Gabriella Cilmi providing a dramatic performance, before their set took a wild turn down an eighties pop path and it all became rather cliché. Local lads Coquin Migale are quick to raise spirits, with their explosive style and intricate riffs. With G O L D in particular sounding epic, its ferocious duelling guitars and ethereal vocals providing the early highlight.

Hot on the heels of this guitar-fuelled juggernaut are Gallery Circus with a slick consummate performance. Live, Gallery Circus are truly a force to be reckoned with, as guitarist Dan sprints from side to side swapping instruments. With ear splitting volume, primitive drums and Dan’s high-pitched vocals it’s a recipe for an incredible show. With Gallery Circus’ commitment being infinitely evident, as they exude passion throughout this frenzied short set.

Following on from this incendiary performance, it’s a toss-up between the headliners, both of whom have produced incredible albums this year. Sticking with PINS to begin with, as they take to the stage they’re filled with Mancunian swagger. Baby Bhangs provides a rabble-rousing opening, with Young Girls being an equally exceptional early highlight, they’re one of the best live bands around right now but so are Kagoule. Who take The Cluny 2 by storm with their off-kilter sound, primitive in nature yet powerful all the same. They don’t possess an overpowering stage presence, instead leaving their frantic and intense tracks like It Knows It to do the talking for them, making it all the more endearing and captivating.

A captivating show all round.
