It’s over three years since Of Monsters & Men released their wonderful debut album My Head Is An Animal – featuring the huge hit Little Talks and its accompanying surreal video – but they’re back in the UK for a show at Newcastle’s O2 Academy on Sunday 29th November.

The six-piece indie folk band from Keflavik, Iceland released their sophomore record Beneath The Skin in June of this year and it carried on much where their debut left off; with sweeping, melodic, epic choruses and harmonies to die for.  Crystals and new single Empire show that the band has not lost their ear for a hook in the long four year wait between records.  Anybody who has yet to catch the band on tour are in for a treat as their live show is just as awe-inspiring as their recorded output.

The Nordic theme for the night will be kept going by Norwegian support act Highasakite who released their second record Silent Treatment last year, the follow-up to 2012’s debut record, All The Floats Will Rain.  Describing themselves as “Rare musical landscapes, a place of long dark shadows, sudden flashes of glittering light, brooding silences and unexpected explosions of fierce percussion,” you’d better make sure you’re in when the doors open for what should be a great night of music.

Please note that this show was originally scheduled for Thursday 26th November and all tickets for that date remain valid.

Of Monsters & Men play O2 Academy, Newcastle on Sunday 29th November.
