This bank holiday weekend is set to feature a mighty fine show at Think Tank? Underground on Saturday 27th May, as the experimental, folksy pop of Wovoka Gentle rolls into Newcastle. With support from the supremely talented Kieran Rafferty, one of the real ones-to-watch out for this year and beyond, it’s set to be a nice way to keep the sunshiney feeling running through long into the night.

Wovoka Gentle are a band who certainly don’t rest on their laurels, with roots in the soundscapes of folk songs, they push that on through a gift for a catchy, grandiose pop melodies, and create a fascinating kind of songwriting. Much the same can also be said of Kieran Rafferty, an avant garde artist, whose music sees him pushing to create some really beguiling and bewitching tracks, that lean heavily towards a quirky pop feel.

With such a bill in store, this could be a real gem within a packed weekend of musical fun and sunny bank holiday shenanigans.
