Empty Shop in Durham has a growing reputation as a venue for phenomenal shows, with lots more planned this year too. One to look out for is certainly the gig coming up on Wednesday 10th  February featuring Withered Hand and Billy Liar.

Edinburgh based folk rock troubadour Withered Hand (aka Dan Wilson) recently released his second album New Gods on Fortuna POP! and it features all of the lovely melodies, twinkly acoustic guitar playing and confessional lyrics he’s became known for. Warm, enchanting songs are a real treat from his delicate, honest voice which croons some of the finest lyrics around; a talented wordsmith his lo-fi song writing showcases some wonderful poetry.

There’s support too from fellow Edinburgh resident, punk singer Billy Liar. With a similar gift for brilliant written words, and sing-a-long melodies, there’s a fiery ferocity bubbling under as he belts out songs with an intelligent swagger.

Withered Handy and Billy Liar play Empty Shop, Durham on Wednesday 10th February.
