White Rabbit is a new short film by Tyneside-based actor, writer and director Mark Kenny. Described as a dark British drama, the film gets its official launch at Bar Loco in Newcastle on Friday 27th February.

Mark Kenny tells us more about the film: “White Rabbit follows John, an autistic young man who is forced to engage in a side of life which he does not understand. As his mum engages in a new relationship with a man she met online, John is pushed out of the house more and more. When he befriends some regulars from the local pub the pressures of hanging around the new group lead to a frantic search for a love, or at least an encounter. Devastating consequences occur as a result of John’s efforts. It’s a hard, gritty, and very dark story with occasional light-hearted moments.”

Aiming to keep those light-hearted moments prevalent throughout the remainder of the launch event, there will be live music performances from the funky Juggernaut Love Band, genre-bashing rockers Velvoir and modern folk band The Pastures.

White Rabbit is screened at Bar Loco, Newcastle on Friday 27th February, with live performances from The Juggernaut Love Band, Velvoir and The Pastures.
