Reliably informed

The second in the series of our occasional nights of wonder at Northern Stage, Friday 13th November will see kaleidoscopic power noise duo Warm Digits perform a one-off audio visual spectacular.

The Krautdisco (I made that genre up, in case you were wondering) duo will team up with analogue film collective Filmbee, who will create live visuals during the band’s set, as one half of the duo Steve Jeffries explains: “An early influence on our sound was experimental artists’ film from the mid-late 20th century; Filmbee’s work has the same qualities and we are hoping to play off their images’ spontaneity, abstraction and joy to make something greater than the sum of those parts.”

Support acts have been carefully chosen by Warm Digits to complement the ethos of the night. co¥ᄀpt, otherwise known as live coding supremo Sean Cotterill (and pronounced ‘co-opt’), will present his utterly unique electronic dance music which is made using the SuperCollider programming language. Custom-made code will be backed by sound-responsive visuals to provide a totally immersive experience.

One-woman hypnotic popstress Dawn Bothwell brings her Pentecostal Party to proceedings, showcasing sublime ambient soundscapes and downbeat alt. pop.

We can guarantee a night of mesmerising sights and sounds, and a feast for your senses!

Warm Digits + Filmbee, co¥ᄀpt and Pentecostal Party play Newcastle’s Northern Stage on Friday 13th November.
