A fascinating bill of some of the best and brightest the North East music scene calls their own is going to bounce some incredible sounds around the intimate space Newcastle’s Head Of Steam offers up, as Friday 12th August, sees five awesome bands all on the same line-up.

Vito will be closing the night, and their alt indie sounds should be a perfect way to bring the curtain down on a memorable evening of jangly guitars and sharp songwriting. A subtle garage rock undertone gives them an edge that really makes these gents stand out. They joined by rock and rollers Smokin’ Trace, bluesy guitars and vocals with an explosion of energy, they’re a fresh new band to keep an eye on. The punky, expirmental Cheap Lunch will kick in with something very different, brash and raw, they’ll be an interesting contrast to the quirky pop of Baker Island, and the delightfully melodic, shimmering indie pop of Canyons, with the latter two bands being two real ones-to-watch over the last year. It’s five quite magnificent bands, and a show you really would be silly to miss, so probably don’t miss it, go, get lost in awesome sounds, and marvel at this quintet of quality.

Vito, Canyons, Baker Island, Smokin’ Trace and Cheap Lunch play Head Of Steam, Newcastle on Friday 12th August.
