After a typically busy summer full of festival appearances (including a headline slot at this year’s NARC. Fest), synth-pop trio Twist Helix finally launch their highly anticipated second album Ouseburn this month with two album release shows in the region.

Having signed with Spanish label Paul Back Music earlier in the year and completed the album in Cuenca this summer, Ouseburn is the sound of a steelier, sharper and even more hook-filled Twist Helix. New singles Newcastle and Graphite join previous releases like Pulse and the title track as giant, irresistible slices of dramatic electronic joy, showcasing the formidable vocals of songwriter and frontwoman Bea Garcia Cisneros.

For the Newcastle leg of the album launch on Friday 5th October, the band headline The Cluny 2 (a necessary upgrade after selling out The Cumberland Arms in February). While the support line-up is currently under wraps, given Twist Helix’s eclectic tastes you can expect something surprising and delightful. On Friday 12th October at The Green Room in Stockton they’ll be assisted by two DIY favourites: the sharp, subversive dance rock of Sheffield’s Duck, and post-punk favourites Casual Threats. Both shows are sure to be in high demand, so make sure you get your tickets bought early.
