Reliably informed

A new series of music industry events are coming to Darlington, all thanks to Tracks, who’ve been working alongside Arts Council England and Creative Darlington to bring some useful talks with industry experts offering up advice to getting on in music across four dates (on Saturdays 1st and 15th September, and 6th and 20th of October) at Hash Bar and Kitchen.

The events are seeking to see the ever growing Darlington music scene really kick on, with the roundtable discussions key to getting as much handy information out there as possible in an interactive and informal way. Becoming industry savvy is just one part of getting ahead in music, of course talent always comes first, but with so much in Darlington and surrounding areas, this project is an exciting ones to see some of our finest musical talent set themselves up ready to kick on to the next level.

Knowledge is always everything, and there’s a wealth of it to be gained here. A range of vastly experienced speakers are there from various areas of the industry. The first talk features our very own Claire Dupree alongside Matthew Aston from music PR company Super Cat, and it all takes places this Saturday 1st September at 11am. Following that on Saturday 15th September is a look at getting gigs, with The Georgian Theatre/Stockton Calling booker, Chris Cobain and booking agent for The Alexia Agency, Graham Iain Clews.

October offers up a look at recording and production with speakers John Esplen (Wipe Out Music Publishing) and Andrew Archer (Loft Music) on Saturday 6th. It all finishes on Saturday 20th October with Henry Carden (Manager of Cape Cub and Cattle & Cane) and Scott Lewis (Clue Records).

More information on these events and to sign up can be found on Tracks’ website here.
