Aristocrat and first-time detective Charlie Montague is about to find out that playing Sherlock Holmes isn’t as elementary as it first seems. He’s tasked with preventing a murder. Unfortunately, the man dies. Undeterred, Charlie, the creation of comedian Tom Taylor, dives straight into another case, one that combines the double threat of murder and modern art. Will Charlie manage to unravel the fiendish mysteries? Or would he just be better off sticking to Cluedo? Well, unsurprisingly, he’s just as baffled by this one too.

Luckily, you don’t need to don a deerstalker to discover that, unlike the hapless Charlie, Taylor’s murder mysteries are brilliantly quick-witted takes on the genre. On Thursday 12th September, he brings the double-bill of The Game’s A Foot, Try The Fish and The Man With The Twisted Hip to Bobiks in Newcastle. The one-man murder mysteries are filled with tongue-in-cheek yet charming parodies of detective fiction, pulling the audience into the 1930s and a pair of whodunnits filled with sharp one-liners and farcical moments that will undoubtedly provide heaps of laughs whether or not you know your Poirot from your Miss Marple.

Tom also joins buddies Sammy Dobson, Simon Donald and Jack Vincent the following night at Bobiks for a Daft! Comedy showcase.

Tom Taylor is at Bobiks, Newcastle on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th September
