Fresh, emerging graduate artists are given a great opportunity to showcase some very special work

There were islands is a graduate exhibition by students of the BxNU Master of Fine Art, developed by Northumbria University and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. Students of the two-year postgraduate course have been gathered together, and the immensely talented and ambitious artists all made the most of a very unique experience; all centred in the vibrant dynamic studio culture of the BxNU Institute of Contemporary Art at BALTIC 39.
The exhibition features work from talented, emerging artists Cat Auburn, Alexandra Brunt, James Ellis-Clark, Alex Harmon, Philip Larry, David Longwill, Markos Sotiriou and James Watts. Across a variety of styles and inspirations,t these young artists have really pushed themselves to create some truly spectacular work.
