The Slits are an iconic all woman punk band, and a film charting their primitive and exciting beginnings in 1970s London is coming to The Star and Shadow Cinema on Friday 24th August.

Starting at the same time as icons like The Sex Pistols and The Clash, the movie charts quite the tale of the group through unseen footage and contributions from Viv Albertine, Ari Up, Palmolive, Tessa Pollitt, Bruce Smith (SLITS Second/PIL Drummer) Don Letts (Former SLITS Manager/Punk Documentarian), Dennis Bovell (Producer of The SLITS album CUT), Paul Cook (Sex Pistols Drummer), Gina Birch (Raincoats Bass Player) and Adrien Sherwood (Producer/Long time friend and collaborator of the band) and a whole load more.

With live music from Boro noize punks GGallan Partridge, the night is stacked with DJs until late too. A punked up Friday night is a-go-go at The Star and Shadow.

The Slits: Here to be Heard plays at The Star & Shadow Cinema, Newcastle on Friday 24th August.
