Lovable, Geordie comedy film Purely Belter has been updated for the stage, and the play which follows two young boys in a tale of friendship, family and foodball is filled with the conflict of hardship and hope, and it comes to Northern Stage from Friday 23rd September to Saturday 8th October.

Adapted for the stage by Lee Mattinson from the novel by Jonathan Tulloch and directed by Katie Posner, young ‘uns Gerry and Sewell have a simple goal, just to watch Newcastle United play. The sacred St James’ Park has been home to legends like Shearer, Keegan and Gazza and it’s that magic that keeps these two drawn in. With a season ticket each all they want, in a world of payday loans and cash-on-credit, how will the two working class lads ever get all they desire?

The Season Ticket is at Northern Stage from Friday 23rd September to Saturday 8th October.
