Raucous Irish punk outfit The Murder Capital are gearing up for an extensive UK tour this summer, with Sunderland’s Independent set to welcome them to the region on Saturday 20th July. Gaining popularity due to their captivating live performances, the Dublin-based quintet draw on traditional punk elements in their brutally honest lyrics, which are complemented with brooding, post-rock soundscapes.

With a combination of ominous bass lines and dramatic percussion digging right down to your very core, each beat will touch each of your bones and inject a sniff of influences from the golden age of punk. If previously released track Feeling Fades is anything to go by, get ready for frontman James McGovern’s distinctive accent chanting over fast-paced instrumentals with beats that command to be stomped along to.

Having supported the likes of Slaves, Shame, IDLES and Fontaines, The Murder Capital have already attracted a strong fanbase and, with their debut album When I Have Fears due out in August, it won’t be long until they outgrow such intimate venues. See them here while you can.
