You may be surprised to learn that some of the most spaced-out epic psychedelic rock is coming out of deepest darkest Cumbria, but that’s where The Lucid Dream have been honing their considerable skills. Displaying a knack for combining fuzzed up noise and melodic experimentation, the band were on the receiving end of some serious accolades for their 2013 album Songs Of Lies And Deceit, and their 2014 single, Moonstruck, was the fastest sell-out in Too Pure Singles Club history (selling out a month in advance of release).

Having completed support tours with Death In Vegas, Clinic, The Magic Band and A Place To Bury Strangers, the band’s live show has reached epic proportions; fine news for North East fans, since they’ll be displaying their canny knack for tinnitus-inducing walls of noise at The Cluny 2, Newcastle on Friday 20th February. The band’s sophomore album – released in March via Holy Are You? Recordings – channels the influence of Can and Neu!, with splashes of vibrant jazz/noise and a spaced-out bliss that will thrill psych rock fans.

Support for the night comes from purveyors of rich astral soundscapes Behold A Pale Horse and the hellishly ferocious stylings of Girl Sweat.
