The Long Play Café is the brainchild of local baristas and music lovers Jon Marley (of indie-psych-rockers Kobadelta) and Chris Jackson, who, off the back of the resurgence of vinyl and their penchant for great coffee, have opened a truly one-of-a-kind space in one of the city’s most notably vibrant areas.

Located no more than a stone-throw away from the River Tyne, The Long Play Café is a space in which you can stick a record on, grab a pew, and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat from their vast array of choices on the menu, and their eclectic, urban furniture makes for an eccentric yet homely environment.

The café doubles-up as a record store, stocking a wide variety of sought-after and interesting records (all of which are very reasonably priced), as well as local band merchandise and vinyl. After only a couple of weeks since it’s official opening, it is evident that The Long Play Café will soon become THE hub for local musicians and music fans alike.

The Long Play Café, Sandhill, is open for business from 8am till 8pm, seven days a week.
