Having made a suitably unsavoury and strange return to television with a festive mini-series at the end of last year, The League of Gentlemen have now reunited for their first live tour in a decade, with the surreal troupe coming to Sunderland Empire for a three-night stand from Friday 25th August to Sunday 27th August.

While all four members of the League – Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss and non-performing member Jeremy Dyson – have prospered across television, film, stage and the written word (there’s a strong argument to be had that Shearsmith and Pemberton’s Inside No. 9 anthology series is the finest work to ever come out of the League stable), a rare chance to see them breathe new life into the memorable grotesques of Royston Vasey on the stage once more is not to be missed.

Although they’ve remained admirably tight-lipped as to the exact content of their new production, The League of Gentlemen Live Again!, we’ve been promised a show of brand new material that’s not so much all singing, all dancing as all kicking, all screaming.

With the Sunderland Empire standing out as one of the most intimate venues across their UK tour, you can be assured that The League of Gentlemen’s return to the stage will offer up a…special experience.
