Ever wanted to venture down the rabbit hole? If so, then you’ll be interested to hear that artists Chloe Rodham and Tim Lozinski have created a digital moving image experience that has been described as Alice In Wonderland-esque, and it’s heading to Newcastle’s Toffee Factory.

Rodham is a rising North East-based talent whose work has been shown nationally and internationally, whilst Lozinski is a collaborative artist with a wealth of industry experience in 3D animation. The Illuminarium will be open to the public from Thursday 10th until Saturday 12th December and will use projections, sound and stop-motion animation to detail the weird and wonderful life-cycle of a moth.

The surreal project combines both artists’ talent in creative digital media to provide an other-worldly vision of a mysterious creature with the use of glowing fibre-optic caterpillars and cocoon shaped lanterns. The exhibition will be an immersive experience and is set to amaze crowds with a visually and aurally stimulating atmosphere. Lozinski describes the installation as a “bright and colourful multimedia spectacle creating an artificial version of a natural habitat”. As well as showing off their colourful creation, Rodham and Lozinski will also be heading a series of talks and workshops, so viewers will get the chance to learn more about the building of the project and the ideas behind it.

The Illuminarium will run from Thursday 10th until Saturday 12th December at The Toffee Factory in Newcastle.
