Next year The Globe Gallery in Newcastle finds itself turning the grand old age of 25. To celebrate a quarter of a century of being a dynamic project event, workshop and exhibition space, they’ve decided to move from their current location to Floor 7 of Commercial Union House, a space that in its glory days played host to infamous politician T. Dan Smith.

One of the priorities of the gallery is to create a dedicated area to open opportunities for wider community workshops, training and development opportunities and talks by artists and professionals from the mental health care sector. It will also provide a home for an exciting new community programme, ‘In Here We Meet’, in association with both Newcastle and Northumbria University.

As you can imagine there’s lots of hard work needed to bring the space back to life and so The Globe has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise £10,000 towards the redevelopment. There are some great rewards for anyone who wants to contribute including some exclusive fundraising posters featuring work from their current Nick Banks and Lady Kitt exhibition as well as other work from past artists.
