Just how crazy is the world of Arthur Brown, I hear you cry? Well, pretty darn wacky, actually. The singer is famous for setting his own head on fire during performances of – fittingly – his iconic single, Fire. The psych rock band are worthy of much more than their one-hit wonder status though; Arthur Brown’s octave-spanning voice and eccentric performances have kept fans enthralled since their reformation in 2000 and their latest release, the joyous and eclectic Zim Zam Zim, is resplendent with genre-bending weirdness.

Arthur Brown brings his crazy world to The Studio in Hartlepool on Friday 16th October, and he’s not the only 60s icon to be gracing the newly revamped and revitalised Hartlepool institution over the next few months; original members of Frank Zappa’s Mothers of Invention will perform on Saturday 17th October, while Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band bring their psychedelic tilt-a-whirl of a show to the venue on Thursday 12th November.

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown play The Studio, Hartlepool on Friday 16th October.
