The Chuckling Monk continue their monthly shows at The Chillingham Arms, with another line-up of some of the comedy circuit’s top pros and giving a stage to the region’s top up-and-coming performers. Thursday 7th January sees another selection of acts that is sure to have you laughing all night.

The headliner for this month is Vladimir McTavish, one of the most respected acts in comedy, the affable Scotsman serves up social observation and on the money satire with his unique, caustic wit. Opening the show is the equally talented Ben Crompton, perhaps more recognisable from television shows like Pram Face and Game Of Thrones, he’s a wonderful comedian too, a fantastic blend of charming and silly, he’ll set the night off to the best possible start.

Added to that are three of North East comedy’s newer acts, with self-deprecating humour from Sam Potter, energetic storytelling from Michael Holford, and intelligent observations from Jonathan George.

The glue that holds it all together is compère Cal Halbert, the comedy impressionist has been a regular fixture in the North East comedy scene since moving from Shrewsbury, and a warm yet razor sharp wit will get any audience ready for an evening of top laughs.

The Chuckling Monk Comedy Club takes place at The Chillingham Arms, Heaton on Thursday 7th January.
